Dallas, OR – The NW Gold Cup Series will once again invade Richland, Washington this weekend August 30-Sept.1st. The Tri-CIties kart club will play host to region 6 touring series in the second to last event of the season. The horn Rapids kart track is a favorite to many on the series, and expected to have a large turnout. Several of the top classes could be decided pointwise, so the racing should be fast and furious.
The NWGC series is proud to be bringing round seven of the series to Richland, Washington to compete at what is consider by many one of the finest and "Racey" facilities in the northwest. At .7 Tenths of mile, Horn Rapids kart track at first glance might be considered a horsepower track, but some slight elevation changes,a ninety degree turn back, and a unique set of "S" turns before getting on to the straight away, this track also tests the drivers technical side and always provides exciting racing. With the Eastern Washington weather it makes a perfect racers or race fans weekend get away.
The top kart racing teams and drivers that the northwest has to offer will compete in a host of 2 cycle and 4 cycle powered divisions including both Rotax and IKF classes, with the age ranging from 5 to 60. The series also showcases a shifter division which features stock 125cc powered machines as well as 125cc ICC engine packages, both complete with 5 speed gearboxes, that will reach speeds of 70 plus miles an hour on a .7 of mile 10 turn road course, turn out has been strong for the division, the strongest that the series has seen in quite sometime.
There is all day practice and registration on Friday August 30 and two days of race action on Saturday and Sunday August 31 & Sept.1st. Gates open at 7am, a drivers meeting at 8 am and practice scheduled to start at 9 am. Race action is set to get underway just after noon both days.
General Admission is FREE to all race fans, and those wanting a closer look can purchase a paddock pass which will get them into the pit area.
